Simple Sea Salt Treatments

Sea Salt TreatmentsSea salt treatments are helpful in removing dry, flaky skin, and it is common to see sea salt as an ingredient in some of the most expensive spa scrubs. This makes it a perfect candidate for trying out on your own at home. It is easy to obtain the maximum benefit from sea salt with a few basic easy treatments. Sea salt is mineral rich, and contains magnesium, zinc, calcium, potassium and iodine, together with minute amounts of other trace elements. It provides the graininess needed to “polish” the skin. A skin polish increases blood circulation while stimulating and eliminating toxins. Using a regular sea salt scrub is essential to be able to soak in ingredients in other skin treatments.

Sea  Salt Detoxifier
Sea
salts draw toxins out of the body. If you make a paste of sea salt and water, and apply it to your skin and leave on for one minute before showering, you will get the benefits of rinsing away toxins drawn out of the skin from the salt. This feels satisfying and refreshing.

Tough Skin Rub
Mix 4 cups of sea salt with 6 ounces of water and 2 ounces of almond oil. After wetting the entire body, rub the mixture on in handfuls starting at the feet and working up. Use a circular motion, or firm vertical strokes to scrub rough dead skin from your body. Rinse and repeat using the sea salt on a washcloth. Rinse. This will leave the skin feeling smooth and soft.

Sea Salt Face Scrub
After wetting the face put a few tablespoons of sea salt in your fingers and very gently massage into your face. Avoid the eye area, but be sure to focus on the cheeks and T-zone. Regular facial scrubs with salt will ensure your skin moisturizers are able to penetrate effectively. It can be done as often as daily, but should be done at least once a week.

Apricot Kernel & Seal Salt Exfoliating Body Scrub
This scrub ensures the absorption of apricot kernel oil. The oil is full of vitamins A, B, and natural emollients your skin needs. The salt makes it very easy to soak into the skin, and it helps rebuild damaged cells. Use 2 cups of course sea salt and ¼ cup of apricot kernel oil. It is best applied with a loofah or washcloth. The salt and oil will make a paste that should be spread on in a smooth, circular motion. Your fingers should be flat and you should apply firm pressure to the skin, but be gentle. Rinse with warm water and finish with a mild soap.
