Is There Something Worse than the Dreaded Uni-brow?

no for bushy eyebrowsDo you pay much attention to your eyebrows? For the most part, probably not. But then one morning as you prepare to perform your morning ritual, you notice a few stray and very long eyebrow hairs. What happened? They weren’t like that the day before – or were they, and you just didn’t realize it.

People usually don’t pay attention to eyebrows unless they are extreme. This unusual feature can become the nickname for an individual. Instead of being referred to by name, the person with the bushy brow risks being known as, “that guy with the eyebrows.”

As men age their eyebrows tend to become fuller and - for some men - overgrown. It isn’t a simple matter of a quick trim. It can be difficult to do it yourself. This is a procedure that you will want to ask your hair stylist to perform. If you have a long standing relationship with a stylist, chances are your beautician will be happy to accommodate you.

You’ll want to take care of them before they become noticeable. Before attempting the procedure it is a wise idea to consult a stylist for tips. Having your eyebrows trimmed professionally to see how it is done is also a good idea. Your stylist will probably want to trim them when you are seated with your head back at the shampoo sink. This provides the best angle for a trim. Some stylists suggest trying a waxing procedure every three to four weeks. This can be more costly than a trim. For the cost conscious, men can try trimming with a small scissors making sure to cut one hair at a time. For best results use a mustache comb and brush the hairs downward. Cut sparingly. Some men have a professional trim several times a year and in between times, do it themselves.

Now if you’re worried that once you start trimming your eyebrows you’re in for faster and denser hair growth, you needn’t worry. Women have been tweezing their eyebrows for years and very few have experienced “bushy eyebrow” problems.

Check out your appearance with a visual inspection first. Next feel your eyebrows to determine if the hair is extremely dense. Look or feel if there are some overly long hairs. Start paying attention to your eyebrows before everybody else does!
